The pile of UK TV shows getting “Translated” to “US” is growing faster than ever it seems.  Currently “Little Britain” is running in its “US” version which i can understand as the original is very “British” which of course is the point of the show. Ive seen a few episodes of the “US” version and its still got the same shocking disturbing comedy to it. Some of the characters are quite poor and not funny really the “Lady with the Dog” for one.

The “US” version of “The Office” is very good it keeps the idea of the original and adds some great ideas and characters to it and it works. Another show ive seen thats made the transition is a show called “Life on Mars”. Ive never watched it and know nothing about it but it another example of how americans need things dumbed-down or translated for them. I cant quite understand why the americans need there own special versions of these TV shows? There are a number of reasons which i can guess at;

• Accents and “British/European Sence of Humour”
• Regional problems like city names etc
• or the plain old stupid fact that americans wouldnt understand it

An Irish bloke goes to the doctor, “Dactor, it’s me rear end. I’d loik ya ta teyhk a look, if ya woot”.

So the doctor gets him to drop his pants and takes a look. “Incredible” he says, “there is a $20 note lodged up here”

Tentatively he eases the twenty out of the man’s bottom, and then a $10 note appears. “This is amazing” exclaims the Doctor. “What do you want me to do?.”

“Well fur gadness sake teyhk it out man,” shrieks the patient.

The doctor pulls out the tenner and another twenty appears, and another and another etc…

Finally the last note comes out and no more appear.

“Ah Dactor, tank ya koindly, dat’s moch batter, how moch is dare den?”

The Doctor counts the pile of cash. “$1990 exactly.”

“Ah, dat’d be roit amount. I knew I wasn’t feeling two grand.”

When Half-Life 2 came out back in 2005 i think, i couldnt wait to play it and the game at the time was being “Pre-Loaded” via Valves superb Steam service. It was the first game that i bought online as a “Digital Download” and it sure wasnt the last. Valves Steam is just such a great example of how to make games available to the customer.

Its just the fact that Steam allows you download the games you want when you want them but it allows you once central location to get a huge selection of games. More and more games companies are signing up to steam.  The recent addition of Cryteks “Crysis” game made me cancel my “EA Downloader” order and any idea i had of buying the game on Disc and get it via steam. Now thats a huge endorsement of Steam, id rather have the game on Steam than;

1) Purchase the game in a shop and install it.
2) Use the “EA Downloader” service which in my experience is complete crap.

The reasons are that you dont need to install the game if you get the game via Steam. Having both Vista 32 and Vista 64 and messing around with the two things can get very messy when it comes to installing games but with steam its no problem.  In contrast to this “EA’s Downloader” service is the complete opposite of this in the fact that you will need to reinstall the game.

This makes Valves Steam the number one choice without any doubt when it comes to buying new games for me.  In fact it makes “Pirating Games” via the usual websites a real “No, No” as why end up installing games all over the place when you can just let Steam download the games you want and they “Just work” no messing around with installation progams and folders, its a one click process and its simple. Ive purchases a few games on Steam such as Bioshock,Grid,Crysis Warhead,Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and of course the Half-Life 2 game and Episodes 1 and 2. They always work auto-update and theres not much else any gamer wants. Long Live steam.

I was looking for info and some tips on the game “Stalker:Shadow of chernobyl” and i found some amazing posts. Actually the first post was some amazing pictures that some guy took on a trip to chernobyl. The pictures are really high quality and well worth a look of all the places to find pictures like these i found em on a games forum.

Of course the original and best known pictures are from the kidofspeed.com website which when i first seen was just amazing. Seing stuff as it was in 1986 is just scary.

A bout a year ago i had found a really great UFO video called “Most accurate Investigation into UFO’s ever” and it really went into detail about UFO’s it had Bull Aldrin the NASA Astronaught speaking about his experiences. It was the best UFO video id ever seen but it seemes this video has vanished from the net. It was on youtube its gone,i found it was on megavideo its also gone and its gone from aolvideo too.

Seems very strange to me that a video like this would just be taken off all video sites. I mean everyone knows youtube take all the good videos down but for it to vanish from at least 3 video websites is just a little weird to me. A Possable copyright infringment might be the reason but who knows really. Im hinting at some other reason really but im sure how to even write it down.

I recently rejoined this video voting site after a 1 year break from it. I like the idea of this site you post and vote on videos you like or hate. A Video needs 10 votes to make it in the “Queue”. Its a good site to kill some bordom but unfortunetly it seems to be a place for the “elite” only.

For the past week ive been trying to get a video to the front of the “Queue” i.e a video to get 10 votes. I was posting some great music videos by irish bands all of which failed to make it. So i decide to try and post a bit of a “crazy video” and well the votes started to flood in but all of which where downvotes…

To cut a long story short the downvotes got me mad and i accused the community of being as bad as the “Eastern Europeons Blockvoting in the EuroVision” when i seen one member tell another member to downvote a video.

They gave me a 2 week ban which is only further proof of the “Elitist” members at that site. I paid 10 euro for 20 day “Charter Membership” upgrade wonder what happens to that.

I went to PC World for the first time in 2 years today and i got a new Power Supply to replace the 450watt one i have at the moment. After the complete disaster of my recent upgrade with my expensive Power Supply failing i was optimistic that the new one would solve my problems.

Just as before i connected everything up and the fracking PSU a cheap looking one i must say (Jeantech Arctic 600Watt). Well it failed yeah completly dead. How on earth could i be this unlucky. Wearing my old “static straps” from my days in Quantum connecting everything properly as usual. I was gutted so yet again im left with no decent PSU. This on top of everythign else i have to worry about..:(
