Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 PC – It gets worse only 9v9 mode!

mw222_thumbCall of duty Modern warfare 2 is only days away and for us PC Gamers it means nothing. The totaly crap that te PC Version will be is just not worth it, plus the price from Steam at €60 and no dedicated servers, no mods and only a rubbish 9v9 mode? What in the hell are they thinking? I only bought the last two Modern Warfare games for the “multiplayer” game anyway, i did manage to finish COD 4 in single player but have not done the same with COD 5.

For a company that made their millions on the PC and speaking as someone who has bought every Call of Duty game on the PC im deeply dissapointed that COD Modern warfare 2 is going to be complete crap on the PC.

  • How can a 9V9 mode be any good? Most Cod games at the moment are 32 players with 16 on each side.
  • No dedicated servers.
  • Game is hosted on one players PC, when and if they leave the game pauses for 5 seconds and makes a new player a host
  • No mods

More bad news:

PS
It’s now official, every copy of Modern Warfare 2 will require Steam activation which means you can get it a lot cheaper in your retail store than on Steam (60€). For example in Poland this game is around 25-30€.

And if all the above wasnt bad enough heres more bad news, a comparison between COD MW1 and COD MW 2;

Steam: Is a Rip off – Steam Vs Retail Sales Prices

img_66901_steam_450x360While looking on steam at the price of the new Call of Duty Game Modern Warfare 2 game and being shocked at the price their charging i got an email from play.com telling about how you can pre-order the game and have it on the day of release. When i checked out the two prices it turned out there a huge €15 difference.

Ive posted before about how games on steam are more expensive and its generally known. But how can they justify the charge of €60 for a PC Game? Most PC Games never are more than about €45 in a retail shop on steam however they normally hit €50 or more. So after a little searching i found out that theres are website about this very topic.

So i checked out the prices of 3 new upcoming PC Games and heres the results below;

Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2

Dragons Age of Origin:

Left for Dead 2

  • Steam Price €44.49 (with 10% off)
  • Play.com  €35.49
  • Direct2Drive.co.uk
  • Amazon.co.uk £26.99 / €30

(prices correct as of 6-nov-09)

Average difference in price is about €12 and this is for a digital download with no DVD, case or manual how on earth can this be justified?  Im going to post the prices of the same against Directtodrive which is another digital download service later.

Heres a site i found exposing the problems with steams service;

Even if after all that if you still dont believe it check out this artivle from the theinquirer.net which lists even more games and the price rip-off;

Judgement Day for Liverpool

liverpool-fc-crestTonight Liverpool face Lyon in a win or nothing match that they must win. The pressure on Benitez is huge if dont win they face the end of not only their season but the Benitez era. With injury problems and a strong Lyon side its will be a diffucult match.

With even that great win over Man Utd which has been forgotton in the wake of two deateats to fulham and arsenal liverpool must up the anty and pool a major performance out of the bag.

As a liverpool fan i sure hope they can do it and that its the end of their season manager.

GTA: Ballad of Gay Tony is finnaly out

eflc_bogtThe Game is finaly out and its its very good, i sat for about 20 mins just watching the “TV Shows” in the apartment in the game very funny stuff. The cartoon taking the piss out of japansese cartoons was very funny. Ive not tried the multiplayer as of yet and will do very soon. Its just one of the many great games coming out in the next month.
